ANNA CLARK

The starting point for my pieces is often the photographs I take during my wanderings around the urban or rural landscape – sometimes taken from a moving train or car, or perhaps as a sequence whilst walking. Back in the studio I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture these fleeting moments.

My work tends to be multilayered and to combine a range of processes which can include print (particularly monotype and collagraph), collage, drawing and paint. I like to build up layers, adding an element of chance and resulting in pieces which can tread the line somewhere between abstraction and representation.

I graduated as a mature student in 2014 with a degree in Fine Art from Wirral Metropolitan College, followed by a year’s Fellowship. Since then I have exhibited in a number of galleries and I participate in Wirral Open Studios.
