My ceramics are mainly wheel thrown with a lightly grogged clay. I scuff the surface of my pots while they are leather hard to create a textured unglazed finish. I apply layers of colour or oxides to build a surface that connects with the form. The marks that I make are also intended to soften the form.

I have used clay for over 30 years and coiled my work at first then moved onto throwing. Its a very different process but one that resonates with me and feels meditative and mindful. I will continue to make pots for as long as my hands work.
