This year she embarked on a new challenge, sailing as a crew member of the racing yacht Dare To Lead, in the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race 2019-20. She sailed from Australia to the the Philippines, and around the Nan Sei islands of Japan. Her original destination was China, but it had to be changed because of Covid-19. She started on 20th January 2020 and finished on 4th March 2020, spending 36 days at sea and covering more than 6300 nautical miles. It was a tremendous experience that she will never forget.
She undertook the challenge to raise money for the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Leeds General Infirmary, which saved her son’s life. To read her story and her fundraising page.
