This year marks twenty years since I started working with wire to create jewellery. I’m pleased to be back at the Oxton Art Fair again, as the first fair, back in 2004, was also my first ever art fair! Over the years I have taken part in many more fairs across the UK and supplied work to galleries and shops including the V&A and the British Museum. In 2012 I moved to Leek in North Staffordshire, where I work and run workshops from my studio above a quirky café.

My current body of work is inspired by the delicate details in wildflowers and leaves. During Covid lockdowns my partner and I spent hours exploring the wilder parts of the Staffordshire Moorlands, observing, photographing and learning about the plants and wildlife we encountered, this time had a great influence over the development of my work.

My latest jewellery collection, Foliage, is made with silver wire, twisting, looping, wrapping and stitching to create delicate, elegant, wire jewellery. To add subtle colour and texture to some of my designs I embellish them with glass beads.

Alongside my jewellery, I now also work on a larger scale with wire, creating wire drawings inspired by nature. I make a collection of wire flower arrangements, featuring seedheads, wildflowers and grasses, which make lovely permanent reminders of the fleeting beauty of our meadows and hedgerows.
