Guest Artist, TextilesClare began her career as a Graphic Designer, which became the foundation for her development into surface pattern design. Since leaving her teaching role in FE, Clare’s passion for printmaking has reignited, finding freedom in sharing her love for all things print and pattern through the exploration of a variety of printing processes to develop her work.
Clare is inspired by nature but struggles to grow her own plants and flowers, hence the experimentation of printing with each stem to capture its beauty before it disappears. This is reflected in her botanical homeware collection that she has exhibited at the RHS Tatton flower show since 2022.
Clare mostly uses Monoprinting with a Gel plate, as she finds it an immediate, unique and versatile process which lends itself to her layered, textural, mixed media approach to her printmaking. CLARE'S WEBSITE
