Having spent most of my life living a stone’s throw from the coast, my work is greatly informed by the dynamic places at the edges of the land, cycles of ebb and flow and the transience of the littoral landscape. I feel particularly drawn to the landscapes and communities of the far north and recent work has focused on visual explorations of remote coastlines in the Outer Hebrides and Arctic Greenland.

Using experimental techniques has become an increasing part of my practice – my most recent series involves bringing elements of the landscape into my home studio, using camera-less photography to create detailed still-life images.

Since early 2017 I have been exploring new ways of showing my work and handcrafted artist books and portfolios are now an integral part of my practice, offering an alternative and highly creative approach to presenting collections of images.

I exhibit regularly in solo and group shows across the UK, most recently at London’s OXO Gallery. I am currently represented by galleries in London, Scotland and North West England and my work is held in private collections internationally. Copies of my Artists Edition books are on permanent display in London and in Ilulissat, Western Greenland.
