The recurring theme in my work has always been the interplay of light, surface and texture in the landscape; again and again I find myself returning to the stillness and the wide horizon of our beautiful Dee shoreline for inspiration. Working with kiln formed glass in my home studio, my work is informed both by this landscape and by the qualities of the material I use.

My latest pieces have been created using a printmaking technique to make single-use moulds onto which I layer coloured glass powder, which I then fire in my kiln to create a unique surface. Using this technique I create both evocative landscape panels and unique vessels.

However, glass is a material that comes in many guises and I also enjoy the challenge of recycling and re-inventing empty bottles and broken or discarded picture frame and window glass, turning these into anything from vessels and vases to Christmas decorations.
